Role and Responsibilities

This position will be based in Kuching, Sarawak - planning and executing telco, smart city, ICT and utilities infrastructure projects (including network upgrades, expansions) within budget and deadlines. Key duties include to coordinate cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders, managing all project documentation, assist with estimation of project bidding process, overseeing site construction, equipment installation, and ensure quality control compliance.


Qualifications:

  1. Malaysian citizen and aged above 18 years old.
  2. Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, telecommunications or electrical engineering, ICT, computer science; or equivalent combination of education and work experiences. 
  3. 5 years and above proven experience as assistant project engineer or project management in construction, telecommunication, utilities or relevant industry.
  4. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suites with the ability to use AI-driven tools for routine task automation and productivity. Any other proficiency in using project management and/or engineering related software (i.e. Primavera PV6, AutoCAD) is an added advantage.
  5. Ability to read and understand network drawing or layout plan, manual, technical data and specifications and Bill of Quantity. Familiarity with network infrastructure, fiber optics, wireless, or smart city technologies.
  6. Certified or registered with Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) and/or Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM); or
  7. Telecommunication competency related certificates (i.e. installation, testing, splicing and maintenance of fibre optic etc.)
