Brief Description:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving revenue growth by expanding the customer base for independent lubricant testing and oil condition monitoring services across Singapore and the APAC region. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and promoting laboratory testing services to industries reliant on lubrication reliability and predictive maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Business Growth & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute a business development strategy to acquire new clients in industries such as:
- Automotive & Transportation (fleets, OEMs, lubricant manufacturers)
- Marine & Aviation (shipping companies, airlines, MRO providers)
- Power Generation (gas turbines, wind turbines, power plants)
- Heavy Industry & Manufacturing (mining, construction, steel, cement)
- Identify and engage with key decision-makers (maintenance managers, reliability engineers, procurement teams).
- Expand market presence through direct sales, tenders, and partnerships with lubricant suppliers, equipment OEMs, and service providers.
Client Relationship & Account Management
- Conduct technical sales presentations to demonstrate the value of oil testing and condition monitoring.
- Provide customized testing solutions based on client needs (routine oil analysis, failure diagnostics, R&D support).
- Manage and grow long-term client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business.
- Collaborate with the technical team to deliver data-driven recommendations for clients.
Revenue Generation & Sales Performance
- Achieve annual sales targets for lubricant testing and OCM services.
- Prepare commercial proposals, contracts, and pricing strategies.
- Monitor market trends (new regulations, industry shifts, competitor activities) to adjust business strategies.
Marketing & Industry Engagement
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and technical seminars.
- Work with the marketing team to develop case studies, whitepapers, and promotional content.
- Leverage digital channels (LinkedIn, webinars, email campaigns) to generate leads.
Additional Duties
- Provide market feedback to the lab team for service improvement.
- Assist in product development (e.g., customized testing packages for niche industries).
- Support strategic collaborations with universities, research centers, and industry bodies.
- Ensure compliance with regional regulations (e.g., ISO 17025, ASTM standards).
