The Faculty of Aerospace Engineering offers the Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering with Honours, providing students with a strong foundation in aerospace engineering principles together with practical, laboratory, design, and project-based learning. The Faculty is expanding its academic and research capabilities in areas including aerodynamics, aerospace structures, propulsion, flight mechanics and control, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), avionics, aircraft design, and emerging aerospace technologies.
Role DescriptionThe Senior Lecturer – Aerospace Engineering is a full-time, on-site academic position based at i-CATS University College, Kuching, Sarawak.
The successful candidate will contribute primarily to the teaching and development of the Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering with Honours programme. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, laboratory activities, and project-based learning; developing and reviewing course materials; assessing student learning through coursework and examinations; and supervising undergraduate projects.
The Senior Lecturer will also contribute to curriculum development, programme review, academic quality assurance, accreditation activities, and continuous improvement of teaching and learning. The role includes participation in research, scholarly publications, grant applications, student supervision, laboratory development, academic committees, and engagement with industry and professional bodies.
The successful candidate is expected to contribute actively to the continued growth of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering and to support the development of a strong teaching, research, innovation, and industry-engagement ecosystem.
QualificationsPreference may be given to candidates who can contribute to multiple areas of the aerospace engineering curriculum and who demonstrate a strong combination of teaching capability, research potential, laboratory development, industry engagement, and academic leadership.
Candidates with expertise in emerging areas such as unmanned aerial systems (UAS/UAV), autonomous flight, advanced air mobility, computational aerodynamics, artificial intelligence for aerospace applications, digital engineering, or advanced aerospace systems are particularly encouraged to apply.
