The Assistant Manager supports the senior sales team by researching market trends, developing sales proposals, and managing key customer accounts in the food sector. They ensure that company sales objectives are met through effective coordination, data analysis, and proactive client engagement.
- Business Development & Growth: Identify new business opportunities within the food industry and develop tailored strategies for penetration in sectors
- Customer Relationship Management: Nurture relationships with key clients, handling inquiries, complaints, and conducting regular visits to understand their business needs and promote product solutions.
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Assist in planning and executing sales strategies to meet quarterly and annual targets.
- Market Analysis & Reporting: Conduct market research to stay updated on competitor activity, pricing trends, and food safety regulations, providing data-driven reports to senior management.
- Operational Support & Coordination: Collaborate with Supply Chain and logistics teams to manage inventory levels and ensure timely delivery.
- Project Management & NPD: Support New Product Development (NPD) by providing customer feedback to R&D and participating in sampling activities and trade events. Minor Food +8
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, or Food Technology.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, ideally within the food, FMCG, or specialty ingredients sector.
- Skills: Proven negotiation skills, strong commercial acumen, and Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
- Language: Fluency in English and/or local languages (e.g., Mandarin) is frequently required for market communication
