JOB SUMMARY

• Teach and coordinate undergraduate courses in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management within the School of Engineering and Science.
• Deliver subjects in Quantity Surveying, with expertise in Cost Planning, Cost Control, and Construction Contracts.
• Teach across a broad range of areas, including Construction Technology, Measurement, Professional Practice, and construction-related software and digital technologies (preferred).
• Conduct high-quality research aligned with your area of expertise and contribute to the University's research profile.
• Provide academic leadership in teaching, research (traditional and non-traditional), and external engagement activities.
• Contribute to the development and advancement of the Quantity Surveying discipline within the University.
• Collaborate with colleagues, industry, and professional bodies to strengthen teaching, research, and community engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In research and/or scholarship he or she will make original contributions, which expand knowledge or practice in his or her discipline. He or she will demonstrate leadership, expertise and coordination of academic courses.

The academic staff will normally make a significant contribution to:

• teaching, scholarship and administration activities of an organisational unit or an interdisciplinary area at undergraduate, honours and post graduate level;
• leadership and engagement in scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession, discipline and/or community;
• demonstrate original contributions to advancing knowledge in research or scholarship at least at a national level; and
• create impact from academic expertise.
• Participate in academic administration, programme coordination, and quality assurance activities.

This level will normally hold a qualification at the doctoral level and can demonstrate a record of scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant discipline area. In exceptional circumstances equivalent professional experience may be considered.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• PhD in Quantity Surveying; Construction Management; Civil Engineering; or related disciplines. 
• A Professional Quantity Surveying (PQS) or Consultant Quantity Surveying (CQS) candidate will be an added advantage. 
• Proven track record of substantial research output and significant impact. 
• Proven expertise and significant professional experience in Quantity Surveying. 
• Proficiency in using industry-relevant software and technology will be an added advantage. 
• Experience in teaching or training in higher education in a relevant discipline. 
• Active involvement in professional organizations or societies related to Quantity Surveying is desirable.

Pay: RM9,000.00 - RM16,000.00 per month
