Responsibilities

Department: Design

Company: Godeco Services Sdn Bhd

Design It. Win It. Build It.

At Godeco Services Sdn Bhd, we believe a great Interior Designer does more than create beautiful spaces.

A great designer understands people, earns their trust, presents ideas with confidence — and turns a design concept into a project that gets built.

Godeco is a growing Design & Build company specialising in interior design, renovation, construction and tender projects across both the private and government sectors.

We’re looking for an Interior Designer who combines creativity with strong people skills and commercial awareness.

Someone who can develop great concepts, communicate confidently with clients, build relationships and help turn design engagements into full renovation and Design & Build projects with Godeco.

If you’re a designer who enjoys both the creative side and the people side of the industry, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Be Doing - Turn Ideas Into Designs

You’ll take projects from initial ideas to practical, buildable design solutions.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Developing design concepts, mood boards and space planning
  • Creating 3D visualisations and renderings
  • Preparing detailed design drawings, specifications and layouts
  • Exploring materials, furniture, finishes and colour combinations
  • Refining designs based on client feedback, project budgets and actual site conditions
  • Creating solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, budget and buildability

We want designers who can create something beautiful — and understand how to make it work in the real world.

Build Relationships, Not Just Designs

At Godeco, our Interior Designers are one of the key people clients interact with during the early stages of a project.

That means your ability to communicate, connect and build trust is just as important as your ability to design.

You’ll be expected to:

  • Meet and engage with potential and existing clients
  • Understand their lifestyle, business requirements, budget, concerns and expectations
  • Present design concepts confidently and professionall
  • Guide clients through design decisions, materials, finishes and project possibilities
  • Maintain strong relationships throughout the design journey
  • Follow up proactively and keep clients engage
  • Handle questions and concerns professionally
  • Create a positive client experience that strengthens their confidence in Godeco

We are looking for someone who is comfortable speaking to people and knows how to make clients feel that their project is in good hands.

Turn Design Opportunities Into Projects

Your responsibility doesn’t end when the client approves the design.

As an Interior Designer at Godeco, you’ll also play an active role in business development and sales conversion.

Many clients may initially engage Godeco for the design stage only. Your goal is to build enough trust, demonstrate enough value and create a strong enough design experience that the client chooses to continue their renovation, interior fit-out or Design & Build project with Godeco.

You’ll work together with the relevant internal teams to:

  • Identify opportunities to convert design clients into renovation and ID projects
  • Understand the client’s budget and decision-making considerations
  • Communicate the value of continuing the project with Godeco
  • Present solutions and proposals in a persuasive but professional manner
  • Follow up with potential clients and project opportunities
  • Address client concerns that may affect their decision
  • Support negotiations and project closing when required
  • Maintain good relationships with clients before, during and after the sales process
  • Contribute towards the company’s project conversion and sales targets

You don’t need to be a pushy salesperson.

We’re looking for someone who knows how to listen, communicate value, build genuine relationships and confidently ask for the business.

Your design gets the client’s attention.

Your communication earns their trust.

Your ability to deliver value helps Godeco win the project.

See Your Designs Get Built

Once a project moves forward, you’ll collaborate with Project Managers, contractors, suppliers and other team members to bring the concept to life.

This includes:

  • Coordinating design requirements with the project team
  • Assisting with material, finish, furniture and accessory selections
  • Conducting site visits when required
  • Checking that the design intent is properly translated on site
  • Resolving design-related challenges during construction
  • Communicating with clients throughout the project when required

You’ll have the opportunity to experience the full journey:

Lead → Client → Concept → Design → Conversion → Construction → Completed Space.

You’ll help ensure that design drawings and documentation are clear, accurate and aligned with relevant project requirements, regulations, codes and standards.

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a strong fit if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture or a related field
  • Relevant interior design experience with a strong portfolio
  • Good understanding of space planning, materials, finishes, colour theory and current design trends
  • Ability to develop ideas from concept through to detailed design
  • Strong client-facing, interpersonal and PR skills
  • Good sales instincts and the confidence to convert opportunities into projects
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to understand client needs and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Confidence in following up, handling objections and discussing project opportunities with client
  • Good time management and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • A proactive attitude towards achieving both design and commercial objectives

We’re particularly interested in designers who are creative but commercially aware.

You should understand that a successful project isn’t only about producing a great design — it’s also about getting the client to believe in the solution, trust the team and move forward with the project.

Software Skills

Experience with the following will be an advantage:

  • AutoCAD
  • SketchUp
  • 3ds Max
  • V-Ray
  • Coohom

You don’t necessarily need to be a master of every software listed.

What matters to us is your design thinking, technical foundation, communication ability, commercial mindset and willingness to learn.

Why Join Godeco?

At Godeco, you won’t be limited to being the person behind the drawings.

You’ll have the opportunity to understand the full business of Interior Design & Build — from meeting a potential client and understanding their needs, to developing the design, winning their confidence, securing the project and eventually seeing that project completed on site.

You’ll gain exposure to:

Design. Client Management. Sales. Project Coordination. Construction. Business.

For designers who want to eventually become a Senior Designer, Design Lead, Design Manager or someone capable of managing their own projects and clients, this exposure can be incredibly valuable.

You’ll work alongside a young and dynamic team, handle real responsibilities, contribute your ideas and continuously develop through actual project experience.

We don’t expect you to know everything from Day 1.

But we do expect you to be willing to learn, communicate, take ownership, chase opportunities and grow with the team.

Think You’d Fit In?

We’re not only looking at how good your renders are.

We’re looking for someone who can design well, communicate well and win people over.

If you’re comfortable presenting your ideas, building relationships with clients and taking ownership from the first conversation all the way to a completed project, we want to hear from you.
