Job Purpose

Process Control & Instrumentation is responsible for leading and supporting the reliability, integrity, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the plant's Instrumentation, Process Control, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, and Process Control Network (PCN).

Key Responsibilities

Instrumentation & Process Control

• The role ensures the design, engineering, maintenance, troubleshooting and optimization of Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems.

• Manage Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLC, SIS, field instrumentation, analyzers, control valves and shutdown systems.

• Ensure optimum performance, reliability and availability of all instrumentation and process control assets.

• Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams for instrumentation and automation issues.

• Develop and implement advanced process control strategies to improve production efficiency, product quality and energy optimization.

• Identify opportunities to improve automation systems and introduce new technologies.

Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) & Functional Safety

• Serve as Site Technical Authority for SIS and LOPA implementation.

• Ensure compliance with IEC 61511 and Group Functional Safety requirements.

• SIS lifecycle activities including: Proof Test Reviews, SIL Verification, Functional Safety Assessment and SIS modifications.

• Support HAZOP, LOPA, CHAZOP, PHSSER and other Process Safety activities.

• Ensure engineering assurance procedures are fully implemented.

Process Control Systems

• Maintain and improve: Emerson DeltaV DCS, PLC Systems, RT-Web, PI System, SharePoint, Manufacturing Portal and Process Control Network (PCN).

• Support cybersecurity requirements for process control systems.

• Ensure infrastructure reliability within the Process Control Network.

Instrumentation Engineering

• Review instrumentation engineering designs and vendor documentation.

• Prepare engineering specifications for instrumentation equipment.

• Review contractor engineering deliverables.

• Support plant modifications, revamps and capital projects.

• Prepare technical recommendations and engineering reports.

Maintenance & Reliability

• Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) on instrumentation failures.

• Develop corrective and preventive maintenance strategies.

• Improve asset integrity and equipment reliability.

• Establish maintenance procedures and best engineering practices.

• Monitor critical spare parts and equipment lifecycle.

Projects & Plant Modifications

• Instrumentation engineering for plant modification projects.

• Support engineering design, procurement, installation, commissioning and startup.

• Prepare Appropriate for Expenditure (AFE) for capital projects.

• Coordinate engineering contractors during project execution.

• Ensure projects comply with engineering standards and safety requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Engineering Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.

• 5 years working experience in Instrumentation & Control or strong instrumentation engineering, operation, or maintenance.

• Fresh graduate for Junior Engineer.

• Work experience is preferable in relevant plant or manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge of control systems, PLC, SCADA, and DCS.

• Experience with sensors, transmitters, and industrial automation.
