About the role

Zeal Cleaning Services is seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our dynamic accounting team on a full-time basis in Penampang, Sabah. This is a strategic position that plays a crucial role in managing our financial accounting and reporting operations. As Senior Account Executive, you will be responsible for overseeing complex accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records, and delivering timely reporting to support business decision-making across the organisation. This role requires a professional who can work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and maintaining comprehensive financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries and reconciliations

• Conducting account reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity

• Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards

• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment scheduling

• Monitoring and analysing financial data to identify discrepancies, irregularities and areas for improvement

• Supporting the audit process by preparing documentation and providing necessary financial information to external auditors

• Maintaining detailed financial records and ensuring proper documentation and filing systems are in place

• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and analysis for management review

• Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, regulations and internal controls

• Mentoring and supervising junior accounting staff where applicable

• Collaborating with other departments to resolve accounting queries and issues

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Professional accounting qualification (such as ACCA, CPA or equivalent) or substantial progress towards qualification

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting roles

• Strong proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements

• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications

• Strong understanding of internal controls and audit procedures

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines

• Proven track record of working effectively in team environments whilst managing independent responsibilities

• Experience in the service industry or cleaning sector would be advantageous
