Job Title: Sr Technician - Chargeman A4

Integrated Facilities Management (IFM)

Job Purpose


To operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure the safe and reliable performance of electrical systems and facility infrastructure within the site. The A4 Chargeman shall ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety regulations, and company standards while supporting overall facility operations.

Key Responsibilities


Electrical Systems Operations & Maintenance

• Operate and maintain electrical installations and equipment in accordance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) regulations.
• Perform routine inspections of electrical systems, generators, UPS systems, and distribution boards.
• Monitor electrical system performance and take corrective actions when necessary.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities according to maintenance schedules.
  
  

Facilities Maintenance

• Support maintenance activities for building services systems including:
• HVAC systems
• Lighting systems
• Water supply systems
• Fire protection systems
• Building fabric and infrastructure
• Coordinate with service vendors and contractors during maintenance works.
  
  

Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Diagnose and rectify electrical and facility-related faults.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and restore services with minimum downtime.
• Ensure all repairs are completed safely and efficiently.
  
  

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with Electrical Supply Act, Occupational Safety & Health requirements, and company procedures.
• Maintain all statutory logbooks and maintenance records.
• Conduct electrical switching operations and issue Permit-to-Work (PTW) where authorized.
• Participate in safety inspections and risk assessments.
  
  

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, checklists, equipment histories, and reports.
• Record energy consumption data and report abnormalities.
• Prepare incident and breakdown reports as required.
  
  

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for energy saving and operational improvements.
• Support facility improvement and reliability enhancement projects.
• Participate in audits and compliance inspections.
  
  

Requirements


Education

• Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field.
  
  

Certifications

• Valid A4 Chargeman Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), Malaysia.
• Additional certifications in HVAC, Safety, or Facility Management are an advantage.
  
  

Experience

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building management, manufacturing, or commercial facilities.
• Experience with IFM operations is preferred.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems.
• Familiarity with HVAC, fire protection, and building management systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals.
• Competent in troubleshooting electrical and facility equipment.
