Job Summary
The Demi Chef (Production) is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and production of high-quality food according to company recipes, food safety standards, and production schedules. The role ensures consistency, efficiency, and cleanliness while supporting the kitchen team to meet daily operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook food according to standardized recipes and production plans.
- Ensure food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control meet company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work area in compliance with food safety.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.
- Monitor inventory levels and inform the Chef or Supervisor of stock shortages.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
- Minimize food waste and control production costs.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure timely completion of daily orders.
- Follow all health, safety, and company policies.
- Support the Chef de Partie and other kitchen staff as required.
Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Commis Chef or Demi Chef in a production kitchen, central kitchen, hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.
- Good knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays if required.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies.
Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
