We are looking for an experienced and driven Assistant Supply Chain Manager to join our team and play a key role in driving our supply chain planning and operations.
Job Description Summary
- This position is the key driver of the organization’s Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Master Production Scheduling (MPS), and Key Raw Materials Planning processes. It adds value by developing and driving customer-oriented supply strategies for finished goods to meet the demand plan, synchronizing supply and demand management through the S&OP process to ensure information is effectively deployed and timely decisions are made.
- The role is also responsible for developing product-driven MPS techniques (Make-to-Order, Make-to-Stock) to achieve a balance between stability and responsiveness across the supply chain, from raw materials to finished goods. This includes ensuring product availability and optimizing customer service levels against finished goods inventory.
Responsibilities
- Manage functional KPIs in line with company targets and take responsive decisions/actions to achieve or exceed the targets.
- Manage the order fulfillment process timely and accurately, from order entry, administration, delivery and shipping through to invoicing, ensuring orders meet customer requirements and are processed in accordance with business policies, standards and guidelines.
- Resolve issues arising from operations that require cross-functional coordination, especially issues that may impact order fulfillment.
- Implement continuous improvement across the supply chain function and integration with midstream.
- Define Key Result Areas clearly and establish roles for supply chain and customer service team members.
- Develop a robust forecasting process in coordination with Sales to ensure effective inventory planning.
- Drive effective inventory management.
- Secure cost-effective, reliable and quality services from key suppliers.
- Conduct effective negotiations and engagement with existing and potential suppliers to ensure sourcing value is delivered.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and assessments of suppliers.
- Develop sourcing strategies for all necessary materials and accessories that align with business objectives, and work closely with suppliers.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
- Complete projects and initiatives as assigned by the superior.
- Carry out duties as and when directed by management.
Qualification and Experience Required
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Management or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of supply chain-related working experience, covering Material and Inventory Management, Production Planning, Sourcing, Warehouse and Logistics Management.
- Experience within the steel/construction industry is preferred to enable strong product and application knowledge.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with an ERP system is an advantage.
- Positive mindset and ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
