About the Role

We are seeking a versatile and dynamic Hardware & IoT Systems Engineer to join our growing Team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between initial hardware design/R&D, technical evaluation of emerging IoT solutions, and real-world deployment on active sites.

You will be responsible for designing and customizing electronic hardware, evaluating and benchmarking third-party IoT sensors and communication platforms, and leading technical integration and on-site troubleshooting. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys both hands-on electronic design and field execution.

Responsibilities:

1. Hardware Design & Product R&D

• Circuit & PCB: Design, prototype, and test electronic hardware components, PCB layouts, schematics, and sensor integration boards for custom deployment

• Prototyping & Validation: Fabricate engineering samples, perform bench testing, and validate hardware performance against operational requirements and standards

• Manufacturing Coordination: Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), technical specifications, and production instructions; liaise with manufacturing partners and suppliers for prototyping and mass production

2. IoT Evaluation & System Integration

• Benchmarking & Evaluation: Evaluate, test, and benchmark emerging IoT sensors, gateways, and hardware platforms (e.g., environmental, safety, ELV, asset tracking)

• Protocol & Connectivity Integration: Implement and optimize hardware-to-cloud communication using IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT, Modbus, LoRaWAN, TCP/IP, Bluetooth, Cellular)

• Platform Integration: Work closely with software developers to ensure seamless data flow and stability between IoT hardware devices and web/cloud dashboards

3. On-Site Deployment & Technical Support

• On-Site Testing & Commissioning: Conduct field deployment, testing, and commissioning of hardware and IoT devices on active client or construction sites

• Fine-Tuning & Calibration: Fine-tune system settings, network parameters, and sensor calibration based on live site conditions and customer feedback

• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide hands-on on-site technical support, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis for hardware/software connectivity issues

• Client Liaison: Interact directly with site managers, contractors, and project teams to address technical queries and gather user feedback for future iterations

4. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including schematic diagrams, integration guides, testing procedures, and site visit logs

• Ensure all hardware designs and field installations adhere to local safety regulations and industrial standards

  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or above in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in electronic circuit design, IoT testing, or Hardware & Software system integration

• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools

• Good understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers (e.g., ESP32, STM32, Arduino), and low-power hardware design

• Hands-on familiarity with IoT protocols (MQTT, Modbus, TCP/IP, LoRa/LoRaWAN, RS485)

• Comfortable working both in an R&D/office setting and performing field testing or deployment on active project sites (e.g., active construction, commercial facilities)

• Good command of spoken/written Cantonese and English. Fluent Mandarin Speaking is a plus (for supplier communication)

• Strong analytical problem-solving skills, proactive team player, and good communication skills with non-technical stakeholders
