About the Role

A leading diversified conglomerate in Malaysia is hiring a General Manager – Retail Sales Operations to drive revenue growth across dealer networks, direct retail sales, and home appliances (built-in cabinets, wardrobes, kitchen systems, and electrical appliances).

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Work Mode: Work from Office
Remuneration: RM 15,000 - RM20,000 + Fixed Allowance

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Growth & Multi-Channel Expansion:

• Formulate and execute comprehensive retail channel sales strategies across dealer, direct retail, and appliance channels.

• Identify market gaps, set channel-specific sales targets, and drive cross-selling strategies across kitchen systems, wardrobes, built-in cabinets, and electrical appliances.

• Support long-term retail business growth initiatives with management.

2. Dealer & Distribution Network Leadership:

• Oversee local and international dealer lifecycle management—including recruitment, onboarding, qualification, and performance standards.

• Improve dealer productivity, conversion, and product mix while developing recovery, restructuring, or exit strategies for underperforming accounts.

3. Direct Retail & Team Management:

• Lead internal sales teams, channel heads, and sales managers to achieve sales targets.

• Establish clear KPIs, conduct performance reviews, address capability gaps through coaching/hiring, and optimize lead management to boost sales conversion and closing effectiveness.

4. Kitchen & Electrical Appliances Category Commercials:

• Drive sales volume, attachment rates, and margins for kitchen and electrical appliances.

• Increase appliance attachment rates to kitchen and wardrobe sales.

• Develop sales packages, promotional campaigns, product bundles, and dealer incentive schemes in close collaboration with Product, Procurement, Marketing, and Operations teams. 

• Monitor category performance, margins, inventory movement, and sales effectiveness.

5. Commercial Performance & Profitability:

• Track overall sales pipelines, revenue trends, category performance, and channel margins.

• Analyze sales trends, channel performance (dealer vs. direct), category trends, and customer behavior to recommend actionable strategies that boost profitability and sales results.

• Continuously review pricing models, commission structures, and promotional offers to maximize profitability and align with corporate governance policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Management, or related field.

• 10+ yearsof progressive experience in dealership acquisition, dealership & sales management, or business development, with at least5 years managing channel sales teams/managers.

• Fluent in English & Mandarin.

• Solid track record in dealer/distributor management, retail channel sales, or multi-channel distribution.

• Strong business acumen across P&L, sales pipeline analysis, margin management, and dealer incentive structures.

• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

• Willing to travel as required.
