Achieve Group Hiring! Full Time Trader (Soybean Meal - Corn) in Federal Territory - Ricebowl

Our client, an established global agribusiness, is seeking a commercial professional to grow its soybean meal and corn business across Malaysia. You will manage customer relationships, drive CNF sales and FOT distribution, and oversee execution while providing local market insights to support regional commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute Malaysia’s marketing and sales plans for soybean meal and corn, working closely with the Singapore value chain team on customer pricing, CNF sales and FOT distribution.
• Strengthen relationships with assigned and target customers, understand their purchasing needs and demand outlook, and convert opportunities into sales.
• Provide the Singapore and Geneva commercial teams with timely insights into customer demand, local inventories and competitor shipment programmes to support profitable vessel planning and execution.
• Coordinate with freight, logistics and trade execution teams to ensure smooth cargo movements, reliable deliveries and responsive customer service.
• Oversee FOT operations, warehouse arrangements and handling costs, identifying cost advantages that contribute to business margins.
• Improve execution efficiency and profitability through port and shipment-month swaps, earlier cargo collection and more efficient foreign exchange payment arrangements.
• Develop strong working relationships with warehouses, stevedores and local service providers to deliver cost-effective FOT operations.
• Coordinate cargo swaps with customers and other market participants to optimise vessel port rotations and support larger shipment sizes.
• Work with Research to track daily local prices, stock levels, competitor activity and industry profitability.
• Monitor uncovered demand, forward pricing, purchasing coverage and consumption trends across Malaysia’s broiler and layer markets.
• Analyse grain and oilseed prices and supply-demand conditions at key ports to identify potential arbitrage opportunities.
• Maintain and share Malaysia supply-and-demand data, balance scorecards and competitor programme updates with Research and Commercial teams.
• Partner with freight, logistics, trade execution, trade and structured finance, financial risk management and sustainability teams to identify opportunities and maximise commercial value.

Requirements:

• Relevant commercial, sales or distribution experience in grains, oilseeds, animal feed ingredients or agricultural commodities.
• Familiarity with Malaysia’s soybean meal and corn markets, including customer buying patterns and the poultry feed sector.
• Working knowledge of CNF sales, FOT distribution, vessel programmes and cargo execution.
• Strong relationship management and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop customer access and close sales.
• Commercially analytical, with the ability to interpret pricing, inventory and supply-demand data and translate findings into actionable opportunities.
• Comfortable coordinating across regional teams and local logistics partners, with a hands-on approach to operational issues and cost management.
