Accountant (Up to 6k) | UK Commodities Firm

Our client is seeking a Financial Accountant to support its financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial information and compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

Your new role

As Financial Accountant, you will contribute to the smooth running of the finance function, supporting day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. You will collect, analyse and investigate financial data to provide insights into costs, productivity and company expenditure.

Your key responsibilities will include:

* Processing financial transactions and maintaining accurate accounting records.
* Preparing account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving outstanding items.
* Supporting month-end and year-end closing activities and preparing financial reports.
* Analysing costs, expenditure and financial performance to support business decisions.
* Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
* Ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial regulations and internal policies.
* Identifying opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.

What you'll need to succeed

* A qualification in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
* Relevant experience in financial accounting, reconciliations and reporting.
* Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
* Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
* The ability to manage competing deadlines and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
