In this role you will:

• We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic thinker to join our team as a Business Strategy Analytics Specialist at the GCB5 level. This critical role focuses on leveraging data-driven insights to shape business strategies, improve decision-making, and drive long-term organizational growth. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in analytics and business strategy development, with a strong ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and competitive positioning. A solid understanding of the banking and financial services sector is essential to ensure analytics initiatives align with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business units to identify key opportunities for leveraging data analytics to shape business strategies and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Develop robust analytics frameworks and tools to support business transformation, ensuring solutions align with customer needs, market trends, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide actionable insights to guide decisions related to retail banking business strategy development or enhancement, channels optimization, customer experience optimization, and competitive positioning.
  • Establish clear KPIs and metrics to measure the impact of strategic analytics initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and scalability.

  Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities that inform strategic business decisions.
  • Design and implement predictive models to assess market dynamics, customer behavior, and business performance, supporting proactive decision-making.
  • Utilize advanced analytics techniques, including segmentation, portfolio analysis, and scenario modeling, to inform strategy and drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management, presenting insights and recommendations that influence strategic direction and long-term planning.

  Business Strategy Optimization:

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency using data-driven strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that optimize workflows, improve resource allocation, and reduce operational costs.
  • Champion the integration of analytics into business processes, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.

  Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate across teams, including analytics, IT, and business units, to ensure alignment of analytics initiatives with operational priorities and business goals.
  • Effectively communicate strategies, implementation plans, and outcomes to stakeholders, fostering transparency and collaboration.
  • Act as a thought leader and advocate for analytics adoption, educating stakeholders on the value of data-driven insights in achieving business objectives.

  Continuous Innovation and Industry Alignment:

  • Stay informed about emerging analytics tools, methodologies, and industry trends, ensuring the organization remains ahead of the curve.
  • Benchmark against leading financial institutions in Hong Kong and globally to identify best practices and apply learnings to the organization's analytics initiatives.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for new analytics solutions and enhancements to existing frameworks, fostering innovation and adaptability.

  To be successful you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Quantitative Finance, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in advanced analytics techniques, including segmentation, portfolio analytics, pricing strategies, and predictive modeling.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable business strategies that drive measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn new analytics methodologies and tools, coupled with a proactive, experimental approach to problem-solving.
  • Foundational knowledge of the banking and financial services sector, with a focus on retail banking, wealth management, and business strategy development.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to tackling complex challenges.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Solid experience in strategic analytics, business strategy development, or related roles within the banking or financial services industry, including responsibilities, such as leading cross-functional teams, designing strategic frameworks, and managing stakeholder relationships.

  • Previous experience in business analytics, strategy development, or similar roles within the banking or financial services industry.

  • Familiarity with analytics tools and platforms, such as Python, SQL, Tableau, QlikSense, or Looker Studio. Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices for data analytics applications in financial services.

  • Experience leveraging analytics for business transformation initiatives implemented by leading financial institutions in Hong Kong/China.
