Role Description Interns will support research and development projects focused on advancing manufacturing capabilities, process innovation, and emerging technologies. Key responsibilities include assisting with technology scouting, experimental design, prototype fabrication, performance testing, data analysis, and technical reporting. Interns will contribute to feasibility assessments and proof-of-concept evaluations for new materials, equipment, and manufacturing processes.

Working alongside engineers and researchers, interns will gain practical experience in developing innovative solutions to engineering challenges, validating new technologies, and supporting strategic initiatives that enhance manufacturing competitiveness, product performance, and operational excellence. This role offers valuable exposure to real-world R&D environments and advanced engineering practices in a global manufacturing organization.


Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma/degree in Engineering (such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field).
  • Basic understanding of engineering fundamentals, including design concepts, problem-solving methods, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools or software (for example, CAD, data analysis tools, or basic programming) is an advantage.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and follow engineering procedures and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated initiative, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback in a professional setting.
  • Availability to work full time on site in Penang, Malaysia for the duration of the internship.
