Clinical Duties and Responsibilities

Assess Patients Prior to Surgery

• Evaluate patients before surgery, including assessing their NBM (Nil by mouth) status and addressing any concerns they may have.
• Essentially ensure correct site, correct procedure and correct patient for surgery.
• Ensure patients has consented prior surgery and the identification check is done before the procedures is carried out.

Prepare Operating Theatre

• Gather all necessary suppliers for the operation.
• Assume responsibility for maintaining a sterile environment in the operating theatre.

Intra Operation Preparation:

• Carry out “surgical” hand scrub according to approved technique and guidelines.
• Scrub and assist in the surgical procedures in the OT.
• Carry out a sponges and needles count in conjunction with the scrub nurse.
• Promote a high standard in the care and safety of patients and all techniques and practices.
• Assist in positioning patient on the OT table with the assistance of other OT staff and securing patient safety on the table.
• Draw attention of the surgeon and perioperative team to all discrepancies in the count before closing up and before the patient is transferred from the operating table.

Job Requirement

• Diploma / Degree in Nursing
• Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board
• Having a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) for nursing practice and BLS
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply

Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM3,100.00 per month
