Clinical Service Delivery
Deliver occupational therapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation interventions to residents in accordance with their individual needs and care plans.
Contribute occupational therapy expertise during patient review meetings and multidisciplinary discussions.
Provide guidance and supervision to Therapy Assistants and volunteers in activities related to occupational therapy services.
Establish and maintain effective communication with rehabilitation professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
Education, Training & Professional Development
Maintain professional competency through continuous learning and awareness of current occupational therapy practices, developments and evidence-based approaches.
Contribute to the review and development of occupational therapy practices and services within the department.
Support the training and development of therapy aides, therapy associates, volunteers and caregivers.
Provide clinical teaching, supervision and guidance to Occupational Therapy students and Therapy Assistant students during clinical placements.
Contribute to staff education and in-service training for nurses on occupational therapy and related rehabilitation topics.
Participate in research, clinical projects and other initiatives that support professional and service development.
Administration & Service Support
Support continuity of occupational therapy services by providing appropriate coverage within the Allied Health Team when required.
Maintain accurate departmental workload data and monthly incident records for reporting to the Head of Allied Health and Senior Therapist-in-Charge.
Provide professional feedback and contribute to the appraisal and development of Therapy Assistants and Therapy Associates in accordance with organisational policies.
Quality Improvement & Other Responsibilities
Participate in departmental projects, interdepartmental committees and quality improvement initiatives.
Identify gaps or areas for improvement in service delivery and contribute to the implementation of appropriate solutions.
Undertake other relevant duties assigned by the Senior Therapist-in-Charge or Head of Allied Health.
