Job Description

Responsibilities

Faradays Energy is a pioneering green technology company dedicated to developing, manufacturing, and deploying next-generation hydrogen fuel cell systems.

We are seeking a motivated and talented Junior Embedded Systems & Energy Automation Engineer to join our core technical team. In this role, you will support the development of an advanced, hybrid energy management and automation platform. This system intelligently integrates hydrogen fuel cells, lithium battery storage systems, hybrid inverters, and industrial communication protocols.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a junior engineer to gain deep, hands-on experience in power electronics, industrial IoT, and smart grid automation while working alongside experienced industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Firmware Development: Assist in writing, testing, and debugging clean, efficient C/C++ code for microcontrollers and embedded platforms.
  • Protocol Integration: Deploy and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols to manage data flow between energy assets.
  • System Integration: Collaborate on the seamless hardware-software integration of hydrogen fuel cells, battery management systems (BMS), and hybrid power inverters.
  • Schematic Analysis: Read, interpret, and validate electrical schematics and technical documentation for system assembly and testing.
  • Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Identify, isolate, and resolve hardware firmware conflicts and network communication bottlenecks.
  • Technical Documentation: Maintain rigorous documentation of code bases, system architectures, wiring diagrams, and test protocols.

Technical Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, Renewable Energy Engineering, Automation & Control Systems, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Core Systems: Practical experience with microcontroller development platforms such as Arduino, ESP32, or STM32.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in C or C++ programming for embedded systems.
  • Industrial Networking: Foundational knowledge of RS485 / Modbus RTU and CAN bus communication protocols.
  • Hardware Literacy: Strong ability to understand electrical wiring diagrams, PCB schematics, and component datasheets.

Preferred Qualifications (Added Advantages):

  • Experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and prototyping tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle).
  • Exposure to IoT platform integration, cloud connectivity, and data telemetry.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation hardware (PLCs, HMIs) and power electronics components.
  • Prior academic or internship project experience in renewable energy systems, microgrids, or battery storage.

Professional Attributes:

  • Analytical mindset with strong root-cause troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive approach to learning complex new technologies.
  • Articulate technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Collaborative spirit, capable of working independently on designated modules or cohesively within a cross-functional team.

What We Offer:

  • Impactful Work: Direct involvement in real-world engineering projects addressing global climate challenges.
  • Advanced Exposure: Hands-on experience with commercial-scale hydrogen technology and complex hybrid energy storage systems.
  • Mentorship & Growth: A supportive environment designed to accelerate your career path into advanced embedded systems and energy automation.
  • Dynamic Environment: A collaborative, innovative workplace culture that values creative problem-solving and technical excellence.
