Responsibilities
Job Description
Review, draft, and provide legal advice on a wide range of legal documents, including but not limited to sale and purchase agreements, lease agreements, financing documents, commercial contracts, memoranda of understanding (MOUs), letters of offer, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and other corporate and commercial documents.
Provide legal and commercial support to business units across the company, with a focus on contract management, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and other legal matters.
Review and advise on commercial contracts to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
Liaise with and manage external legal counsel to obtain timely and cost-effective legal support.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and regional business units on legal, contractual, and compliance matters.
Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's risk management framework, including conducting risk assessments and maintaining the corporate risk register.
Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments and provide practical legal advice to support business operations.
Assist with dispute management and other legal matters as required.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) or an equivalent qualification recognised for legal practice.
At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or as an in-house legal counsel.
Experience in commercial law, contract law, or construction-related legal matters will be an advantage.
Knowledge of construction contracts and the construction industry is preferred.
Proficient in bilingual languages (able to speak and write English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking associates, stakeholders and headquarters for work purposes.
Strong legal drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
