The role
You'll be one of the first engineers on a new line of AI-powered products alongside our existing tools. That means working directly with me and with customers, defining what to build, and shipping it end to end. Expect ambiguity, fast iteration, and a lot of ownership.
Why join us
- Work directly with a technical founder who has built and run a profitable company for 10 years
- Build entirely new products with real customers from day one, backed by an existing profitable business
- Real technical and product autonomy: you decide how things get built and influence what gets built
- A small engineering team where your work ships fast and its impact is visible
Qualifications
- 3+ years building and shipping production software
- CS degree or equivalent experience
What matters most (must have)
- Strong system design: data modeling, APIs, scalability, failure modes, and cost tradeoffs
- Problem definition: turning a vague customer problem into a clear spec, scope, and plan before writing code
- Daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.): you break work down, give agents the right context, and review everything they write
- Verification mindset: testing, debugging, security awareness, and the judgment to reject plausible-looking but wrong code
- Product sense: you care about UX and make good calls on what to build and what to cut
- End-to-end ownership: take substantial features from concept to production as the sole engineer, frontend through infrastructure
- Clear written and verbal communication
Technical foundation
- Deep expertise in at least one modern stack (we use TypeScript, Node, and React)
- Relational and non-relational databases
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), Linux, Docker, and CI/CD
Work hours:
Full time. You must not have a second job or be freelancing.
Compensation and perks
- Above market salary
- Performance based bonuses
- Once a year company sponsored trip
- Opportunities for fast career growth
Interview Process
- Resume and questionnaire screening
- Introduction call
- Live coding, no AI (45-60 min): a practical problem such as parsing data, building a small API endpoint, or fixing a bug in existing code. We look at correctness, clarity, and how you debug.
- AI-assisted take-home: build a realistic feature in a small codebase using your normal AI tools, then walk us through what you shipped and why.
- System design and product tradeoffs
