Black & White Engineering Hiring! Full Time Senior Electrical Engineer in - Ricebowl

At Black & White Engineering, we specialise in delivering mission-critical infrastructure that supports the digital economy. We are seeking a highly capable Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of complex, high-value projects and contribute to the continued growth of Black & White Engineering in Singapore and across the APAC region.

This role will focus on delivering technically challenging projects, particularly within mission-critical environments such as data centres. You will play a key role in electrical engineering design, project delivery, coordination and client engagement, while supporting team development and business growth initiatives.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (Tasks)

Engineering & Project Delivery

• Deliver high-quality electrical (MEP) design solutions across all project stages
• Design MV/LV power distribution, UPS systems, standby generators, switchgear, lighting and critical power systems
• Support end-to-end project delivery, ensuring outputs meet client requirements, timelines and budget constraints
• Undertake detailed design calculations (e.g. load, cable sizing, fault level, discrimination and voltage drop) and technical documentation
• Participate in design reviews, FAT/SAT and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and codes
• Coordinate closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including mechanical, ICT, structural and architectural disciplines

Technical Excellence

• Provide technical input and guidance within project teams
• Ensure designs align with industry best practice and local regulatory requirements (e.g. SS 638, EMA, SP Group and BCA requirements)
• Ensure designs meet uptime, redundancy (e.g. N+1, 2N) and resilience requirements for mission-critical facilities
• Contribute to innovation in engineering solutions, particularly in energy efficiency and sustainability within data centre environments
• Review and check design work produced by junior engineers

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Support client engagement on projects, maintaining strong working relationships
• Attend client meetings, workshops and technical discussions
• Collaborate with contractors, consultants, vendors and authorities to ensure smooth project execution
• Act as a reliable technical point of contact for assigned projects

Team Support & Development

• Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates in their professional development
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team
• Assist with internal resource planning and coordination as required

Commercial Awareness

• Support project managers in monitoring project scope, timelines and cost controls
• Assist in preparing technical inputs for proposals and bid submissions
• Maintain awareness of project commercial drivers and contribute to efficient delivery

ADDITIONAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support business growth initiatives for Black & White Engineering in Singapore and across the APAC region
• Work across projects in other APAC locations as required, contributing to a growing regional team with international exposure
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required, commensurate with the grade of the role

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES (Resources)

• Accountable for the technical quality, accuracy and compliance of own electrical design outputs
• Responsible for reviewing and checking design work produced by junior engineers and graduates
• Technical point of contact for assigned projects, supporting project managers on scope, programme and cost
• Supports internal resource planning and coordination within the electrical team

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENT (minimum)

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng/BSc or equivalent)
• Working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status (CEng, PE Singapore or equivalent) preferred
• Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) licence with EMA advantageous
• Strong knowledge of relevant design standards and Singapore regulations (e.g. SS 638, EMA, SP Group and BCA requirements), and international data centre standards (e.g. TIA-942, IEC)
• Proficiency in design tools such as Revit, ETAP, DIALux or similar platforms

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (minimum)

• Typically 3–7 years of experience in electrical (MEP) design consultancy
• Proven experience delivering complex projects, ideally in data centres / mission-critical facilities, commercial developments or large-scale infrastructure projects
• Strong expertise in critical power systems, including UPS, generators, MV/LV distribution and redundancy design
• Experience working across design, delivery and commissioning phases
• Experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, contractors and consultants
• Experience mentoring or checking the work of junior engineers
