Safilo Far East Ltd Hiring! Full Time Product Development Engineer in Hong Kong - Ricebowl

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement, update and manage the business reporting system by gathering data and collecting info from different sources and team members

• Implement and develop collaborative planning with Key accounts to improve OFR, in line with corporate strategy

• Coordinate and lead the suppliers on the technical development of the new models

• Communicate effectively with Italian HQ (Project Leaders, Designer team, Tech. Dept. Quality Team) to clarify unclear issues and provide clear and accurate information to varies stake holders

• Evaluate the capability of different suppliers versus the requirements of assigned models

• Solve potential technical, quality and production issues

• Check, inspect, test samples (prototypes, tooling samples, color samples) and ensure compliance with technical drawings and design requirements

• Implement design team’s instructions and ensure that suppliers respond to comments from the design team on the submitted samples and apply them to the development process

• Ensure the model development meets the given deadlines and matches technical drawings

• Carry out weekly visits to the production lines of the suppliers and monitor the status of industrialization process of the models under development

• Process requests from Design Department regarding production processes, materials and product information

• Control all the relevant documentation for the technical package of each model (Drawings, BOM, CE test reports)

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or relevant technical subject

• At least 4 year experience in optical/ accessories/ watch/ jewelry/ toys industry

• Proficient in using CAD software 2D and 3D

• Ability to independently read, assess and check technical drawings (2D & 3D)

• Experience in technical roles focused on product development

• Experience in quality and/or production roles is a plus

• Proactive, independent, self-motivated and able to work under pressure

• Good team player

• Strong problem solving skills

• Target oriented, ability to implement and drive processes

• Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
