Production Planner

Department: Logistics
Reports To: Logistics Manager
Location: Port Klang, Selangor

Role Summary

The Production Planner is responsible for translating customer demand into executable production and material plans. The role ensures materials are available, production capacity is optimized, inventory levels are healthy, and customer orders are delivered on time. The planner works closely with Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Develop monthly and short-term production plans based on sales forecasts and customer orders.
• Monitor daily production performance and demand fluctuations.
• Adjust production schedules according to capacity and operational constraints.
• Optimize machine and resource utilization while maintaining service commitments.

Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

• Maintain and execute MRP planning in SAP.
• Ensure raw materials are available to support production requirements.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain teams on material availability.
• Identify supply risks and implement contingency plans.

Customer Demand Fulfilment

• Support urgent customer requests and demand changes.
• Balance customer service levels against inventory and production constraints.
• Communicate supply plans and delivery capabilities to commercial teams.

Inventory Management

• Monitor Finished Goods, WIP, aging stock and obsolete inventory.
• Drive initiatives to improve inventory turns and reduce excess stock.
• Maintain supply continuity while controlling inventory costs.

SAP Master Data Management

• Maintain BOMs, routings, planning parameters and production master data.
• Support new product launches and process changes.
• Ensure SAP data is accurate and updated.

Continuous Improvement & Projects

• Participate in cost reduction and operational improvement projects.
• Support product trials and capacity expansion initiatives.
• Improve planning efficiency and workflow effectiveness.

Compliance & HSE

• Adhere to HSE standards and GoalZERO initiatives.
• Participate in safety programs and hazard identification activities.
• Support internal and external audits.

RequirementsEducation

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or related field.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years in Production Planning, Supply Planning, or Materials Planning.
• Manufacturing industry experience required.
• Experience in plastics, polymers, chemicals, rubber industries preferred.
• Strong SAP PP/MM exposure.
