Atlas Logistics is looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Executive to take ownership of the company’s accounting function.
This is a hands-on role suitable for someone who is confident managing a full set of accounts independently, reviewing and cleaning up existing accounting records, maintaining proper accounting structure, completing month-end closing on time, and guiding junior accounts staff.
The successful candidate should be organised, responsible, detail-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle full set of accounts including GL, AP, AR and bank reconciliation
- Review and clean up existing accounting records and outstanding items
- Reconcile bank accounts, debtor balances, creditor balances and balance sheet accounts
- Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and management accounts
- Perform month-end and year-end closing
- Prepare and maintain proper accounting schedules, including:
- accruals
- prepayments
- fixed assets
- loans / hire purchase
- debtor and creditor reconciliation
- other balance sheet schedules
- Monitor Accounts Receivable aging and follow up on outstanding customer payments
- Review supplier invoices, payment requests and Accounts Payable
- Maintain proper Chart of Accounts and ensure transactions are classified correctly
- Handle SST-related accounting matters where applicable
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, banks and other external parties
- Assist with annual audit and tax matters
- Monitor company cash flow and banking transactions
- Review accounting entries and work prepared by junior staff
- Guide and train junior accounts staff
- Establish proper accounting procedures, checklists and filing systems
- Ensure accounting records are accurate, organised and kept up to date
- Provide management with timely financial information and highlight accounting issues when identified
Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience preferred
- Strong hands-on experience handling full set of accounts
- Able to prepare P&L and Balance Sheet independently
- Good knowledge of month-end closing and account reconciliation
- Experience dealing with auditors and tax agents
- Experience using SQL Accounting is highly preferred
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transport or related industries is an advantage
- Able to work independently and take ownership of the accounts
- Able to supervise and guide junior accounts staff
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are important for this position
