Video Editor / Creative Content Editor
Location: Singapore
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Employment Type: [Full-Time / Part-Time / Freelance]
About Buddy Bites
Buddy Bites is a fast-growing pet nutrition brand with a mission to make better nutrition accessible to pets while giving back to animals in need. For every 2kg of food sold, we donate 1kg to animal shelters across Singapore and Hong Kong.
We’re looking for a Video Editor / Creative Content Editor who can help us turn our growing library of content into engaging, performance-driven videos for social media and digital advertising.
About the Role
This is not a role where you’ll simply be handed footage and told where to cut.
We’re looking for someone who can edit quickly, think creatively and understand what makes people stop scrolling.
Some projects will come with a clear brief, storyboard and direction for you to execute. For others, you’ll be given raw footage, UGC, product shots or existing content and expected to develop the concept, hook, structure and storyboard yourself before turning it into a finished piece of content.
A large part of the role will involve creating and iterating short-form video ads and social content, so you should be comfortable producing multiple creative variations and working at a fast pace.
Key ResponsibilitiesVideo Editing & Production
- Edit short-form videos for Meta ads, Instagram Reels, TikTok and other digital platforms
- Turn raw footage, UGC, product footage and existing assets into polished, engaging videos
- Execute videos based on briefs, scripts and storyboards provided by the marketing team
- Independently develop videos from concept to final execution when a detailed brief is not provided
- Select the strongest footage from our existing content library and identify opportunities to repurpose older content
- Add subtitles, graphics, text overlays, transitions, sound effects, music and other elements to strengthen storytelling
- Adapt videos into different formats, lengths and placements for different platforms
Creative Concepts & Storyboarding
- Develop hooks, concepts and storyboards for new video ads and social content
- Identify different creative angles from the same set of footage
- Understand how to structure short-form videos to capture attention within the first few seconds
- Turn marketing messages and product USPs into simple, engaging video concepts
- Suggest new ways to use existing footage rather than relying on new shoots for every piece of content
- Work with the marketing team to translate campaign objectives into executable creative ideas
Performance Creative & Ads
- Create video ads designed specifically for paid social performance
- Produce multiple variations of creatives by testing different hooks, openings, messaging, CTAs, pacing and formats
- Refresh and iterate existing ads to help combat creative fatigue
- Work with the performance marketing team to understand which creatives are working and use those learnings to inform future edits
- Understand the difference between content that needs to feel polished and content that should feel more native, organic or UGC-style
- Be comfortable working quickly to turn around new creative tests
Social Content
- Edit entertaining, educational, product-focused and community-led content for Buddy Bites' social channels
- Stay up to date with TikTok, Instagram Reels and short-form content trends
- Understand social-first editing styles, pacing, hooks and storytelling
- Spot trends and formats that could be adapted for Buddy Bites
- Help turn everyday footage into relevant, entertaining content rather than waiting for highly produced shoots
Content Management & Collaboration
- Work closely with the marketing, social and performance teams to manage creative priorities
- Maintain organised project files and video assets
- Help identify gaps in our existing footage and recommend what should be captured during future shoots
- Manage multiple edits and creative requests simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Take feedback constructively and turn around revisions efficiently
- Support other ad hoc creative and marketing responsibilities when required
What We're Looking ForSkills & Experience
- Strong video editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro or similar software
- Experience creating short-form social content and/or digital ads
- Good understanding of Instagram Reels, TikTok and Meta advertising formats
- Strong sense of pacing, storytelling and attention-grabbing hooks
- Ability to work from both detailed briefs and open-ended creative direction
- Comfortable developing concepts and storyboards independently
- Able to look through a bank of raw footage and see opportunities for multiple pieces of content
- Strong understanding of subtitles, typography, music, sound design and basic motion graphics
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects or Canva is a plus
The Person We're Looking For
You’re someone who doesn’t need every edit mapped out frame by frame.
You can receive a brief and execute it accurately, but you’re equally comfortable being told, “Here’s the footage and the message we want to communicate — see what you can come up with.”
You should be:
- Fast and efficient — able to turn around edits without sacrificing quality
- Creative — able to see multiple stories and angles within the same footage
- Social-first — you understand what feels native to TikTok and Instagram
- Commercially minded — you understand that an ad ultimately needs to communicate and drive action, not just look good
- Proactive — you bring ideas instead of always waiting for a brief
- Adaptable — comfortable switching between polished brand content, UGC-style ads, trends, product videos and quick creative tests
- Detail-oriented — able to maintain brand consistency while working quickly
- We're a pet brand so you must be comfortable working with Cats & Dogs
Experience working with DTC, e-commerce, lifestyle, F&B or pet brands would be a bonus.
Application
Please submit your CV and portfolio/showreel, including examples of short-form social content and video ads where possible.
We’d especially love to see work that demonstrates your ability to take raw footage and turn it into a compelling piece of content — not just highly produced videos where the concept and direction were already provided.
