We are looking for a hands-on Frontend Engineer who combines strong frontend fundamentals with modern AI-assisted development practices.

You will develop and optimise internal business systems and selected consumer-facing applications, improve frontend architecture and performance, and help establish AI-powered engineering workflows that make software development faster and more effective.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building practical products, solving real business problems and using tools such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex to accelerate development without compromising code quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build & Improve Products

• Develop and maintain internal business systems and selected consumer-facing pages using React and modern frontend technologies.

• Translate design specifications into responsive, high-fidelity user interfaces.

• Improve frontend architecture, maintainability, scalability, performance and browser compatibility.

2. Make AI a Core Part of Development

• Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex to support feature development, debugging, refactoring and testing.

• Break down business requirements into actionable tasks and provide the relevant project, business and code context for AI-assisted implementation.

• Review, debug and refine AI-generated code, validating its correctness through testing and actual execution.

3. Improve Engineering Efficiency

• Contribute to AI-assisted development workflows, reusable project instructions and engineering practices.

• Explore integrations with development tools through Model Context Protocol (MCP) and other relevant engineering tools.

• Identify opportunities to reduce repetitive work and improve development speed, code quality and delivery consistency.

4. Collaborate & Deliver

• Work closely with product, design, testing and backend teams to deliver reliable, user-friendly solutions.

• Participate in technical discussions, API integration, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

• Take responsibility for the quality, maintainability and performance of the code you deliver, including AI-assisted code.

Key Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• At least 3 years of frontend development experience, or strong demonstrable technical skills and relevant project experience for entry-level candidates.

• Strong JavaScript fundamentals and proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 and React, including an understanding of React's rendering, state management and component lifecycle.

• Familiarity with Git, Node.js, frontend build tools and modern frontend engineering practices.

• Understanding of backend development concepts and API integration.

• Ability to translate design specifications into accurate, high-quality user interfaces.

• Good coding practices, architectural judgement, performance optimisation and cross-browser compatibility skills.

• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or OpenAI Codex in practical development workflows.

• Ability to break down tasks, provide relevant codebase context, guide AI-assisted implementation and independently verify the resulting code.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, initiative and effective communication and collaboration skills.

The following experience will be an advantage:

• Developing B2B or enterprise applications, particularly internal business systems involving approvals, human resources, payroll, finance or data analytics.

• Using or developing low-code platforms.

• Delivering full-stack projects, including frontend and backend development, database design, API integration, deployment and end-to-end delivery.

• Validating code quality and runtime behaviour and troubleshooting issues throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.

• Developing consumer-facing applications or working on application performance optimisation and information security.
