About the Company
A fast-growing digital infrastructure developer delivering next-generation, high-performance data centre facilities across the Asia-Pacific region. The organisation accelerates large-scale greenfield, powered-shell, and turnkey projects to support expanding cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and high-performance computing (HPC) demands.
Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager leads end-to-end delivery of large-scale data centre projects from early feasibility, site selection, and design through construction, testing, commissioning, and operational handover. Working on the developer side, this position ensures regional projects meet budget, schedule, safety, and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Development & Delivery
- Lead full lifecycle project delivery across feasibility, pre-construction, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Formulate project strategies, master schedules, budgets, resource plans, and key milestones.
- Direct multi-workstream coordination covering land acquisition, utility hookups, engineering design, and construction execution.
2. Technical & Design Management
- Oversee multidisciplinary design coordination (civil, structural, architectural, MEP) for high-density AI/HPC readiness.
- Manage critical MEP system integration, including high-voltage power distribution, UPS, generators, cooling solutions, fire protection, and BMS.
- Conduct value engineering, constructability reviews, and technical risk mitigations.
3. Construction Execution & Site Oversight
- Manage main contractors, specialist subcontractors, engineering consultants, and critical equipment suppliers.
- Monitor site progress, critical-path activities, safety practices, and quality assurance.
- Track long-lead equipment procurement and installation to mitigate schedule delays.
4. Commercial, Financial & Governance Controls
- Direct project budgets, cash flow forecasting, expenditure tracking, and cost optimization.
- Oversee procurement strategies, tendering, contract awards, variations, and change orders.
- Establish project governance, risk registers, progress reporting, and senior management updates.
- Secure statutory approvals, utility agreements, and regulatory permits.
5. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Lead integrated testing and commissioning (IST) for critical mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Ensure complete delivery of as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and testing records.
- Coordinate seamless transition of asset readiness to facility operations teams.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in project management or construction delivery, with proven data centre experience (developer, operator, main contractor, or consultancy).
- Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of data centre MEP infrastructure, mission-critical power/cooling systems, high-density AI/HPC requirements, and utility coordination.
- Commercial Expertise: Strong capability in financial tracking, tender evaluations, contract management, variation control, and cost governance.
- Leadership & Communication: Excellent stakeholder management, regulatory navigation, and reporting skills.
- Preferred: Experience in greenfield developments, hyperscale facilities, powered-shell delivery, high-voltage utility connection, or liquid cooling systems.
