Job Description

Responsibilities

Established in 1983, Phillip Nova is a member of the PhillipCapital Group and provides electronic trading solutions across a broad range of financial markets. Our exchange-traded offerings enable individual investors, professional traders and corporate clients to access equities and other listed products through our trading platforms.

Job Description:

As an Executive in the Stocks Business Development Team, you will support the growth of Phillip Nova's exchange-traded equities business across the retail and high-net-worth segments. You will contribute to client acquisition and retention through targeted campaigns, lead follow-ups, events, networking and other business development initiatives. You will also engage existing clients to understand their investment and trading needs, provide timely support and identify opportunities to improve their experience. In addition, you will participate in projects that enhance our products, platforms and overall equities proposition.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute activities and campaigns that support sales channels in achieving active-client, client-acquisition and trading-volume targets for the equities business.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Communications team to raise awareness of our stocks and ETF offerings, identify relevant investment themes and drive lead acquisition and client engagement.
  • Build relationships with existing and prospective clients, understand the needs of different investor segments and support client retention and satisfaction.
  • Conduct market, competitor and client analysis to identify business opportunities, assess industry trends and provide actionable insights to the team.
  • Plan and conduct seminars, webinars, workshops and client events to support investor education, acquisition and engagement.
  • Develop presentations, proposals, articles and other client-facing materials relating to stocks, ETFs and other listed investment products.
  • Monitor campaign performance, client activity and trading-volume trends; prepare regular reports and recommend improvements based on agreed KPIs.
  • Participate in cross-functional and ad hoc projects involving product launches, platform enhancements, exchange partnerships and improvements to the client trading experience.
  • Keep abreast of developments in AI-enabled investing tools, digital brokerage and trading technology, and provide business input on relevant client, product and platform opportunities.

Key Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of relevant business development experience covering stocks and exchange-traded products, preferably within a securities brokerage or financial services environment.
  • Minimum Diploma or higher qualification in any discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to support client acquisition, engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Well-organised and meticulous, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and campaign timelines.
  • Proactive, resourceful and able to develop practical solutions for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong interest in equities, ETFs and developments across financial markets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for client-facing and internal communication.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends when required to support seminars, client events and other business development activities.

Advantageous to have:

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the confidence to speak at seminars, webinars and other client-facing events.
  • Relevant CMFAS certifications, including RES1A, RES2A, RES5, CM-EIP and CM-SIP, or the ability to obtain the required modules and licensing.
  • Good knowledge of stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including their key features, trading mechanics, investment applications and suitability for different investor segments.
  • Familiarity with fundamental and technical analysis and commonly used securities trading and execution platforms.
  • Experience developing campaigns, organising investor-education initiatives or analysing equities client activity and trading trends.
  • Familiarity with how AI-enabled tools are applied across the investing journey, including market research, investment discovery, portfolio analysis, client engagement and digital trading platforms.
