Role Description The Litigation Paralegal will support lawyers in all stages of commercial litigation, including case preparation, court filings, and trial support. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and organizing legal documents, assisting with pleadings and motions, managing case files and deadlines, and coordinating with clients, courts, and external parties. The role also involves conducting legal research on Malaysian commercial law issues, summarizing findings, and helping prepare documents for hearings and trials. This is a full-time, on-site role based in WP Kuala Lumpur, requiring consistent presence in the office and occasional attendance at court or meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in Legal Document Preparation and Document Review to draft, format, and manage litigation documents accurately.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Legal Research to locate, analyze, and summarize relevant statutes, case law, and regulations.
  • Candidates should possess skills in preparing Pleadings and Motions to assist with drafting, organizing, and filing court documents.
  • Candidates should have strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Candidates should have good organizational and time-management abilities, including maintaining case files, calendars, and document tracking systems.
  • Candidates should be proficient in standard office and legal software (e.g., word processing, document management, and electronic filing systems).
  • A diploma or degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field, and prior experience as a litigation paralegal or legal assistant, are highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Malaysian court procedures and commercial litigation practices, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment, is an advantage.
