Role Description The Automation Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Selangor, Malaysia. The individual in this role will install, configure, test, and maintain automation equipment, robotics, and electrical control systems in industrial settings. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues, performing corrective and preventive maintenance, and supporting upgrades or modifications to existing automation systems. The technician will collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company and industry standards. The role requires accurate documentation of work performed, adherence to safety procedures, and timely communication of issues and progress to supervisors and project teams.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Candidates should possess skills in robotics and automation systems, including setup, calibration, and basic programming or configuration.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of electricity and electrical components, including wiring, sensors, actuators, and control panels.
  • Candidates should possess experience in preventive maintenance for automation and robotic equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Relevant technical certification or diploma in electrical engineering, mechatronics, industrial automation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Comfort working in industrial environments with adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to work on rotational shifts or extended hours when required for maintenance or project work.
