Job Summary:-

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager to lead our forwarding department. The core of this role requires unparalleled expertise in managing the complete, end-to-end forwarding declaration process. The ideal candidate is deeply rooted in customs clearance and logistics operations, while also possessing a strong interest in modern technology and the agility to absorb new tools, including Artificial Intelligence (AI). You will oversee daily forwarding operations, ensure strict regulatory compliance, and drive efficiency. Success in this role requires a strong demonstration of operational improvement, strategic planning, task management, and team collaboration, alongside the ability to effectively report and communicate.

Key Responsibilities & Prioritized Capabilities:-

1. Operational Improvement & Task Management (Core Focus)

End-to-End Declaration Mastery: Take full ownership of the end-to-end forwarding declaration process, actively managing and prioritizing daily workflow from initial documentation through to final cargo clearance to meet tight shipping deadlines.

Forwarding Lifecycle Optimization: Continuously evaluate, manage, and streamline the entire freight forwarding workflow (Air, Sea, and Land) to ensure seamless, cost-effective, and timely cargo delivery.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Apply deep, hands-on expertise in Malaysian customs regulations to meticulously manage clearance tasks, ensuring 100% compliance and proactively avoiding costly delays or penalties.

2. Technology & AI Adaptation

System Integration & Continuous Learning: Demonstrate an eagerness to learn, absorb, and integrate practical new tech solutions as they become available.

3. Strategic Planning

Executive Reporting: Analyse departmental performance data and effectively communicate strategic recommendations, KPIs, and margin improvement plans management.

4. Team Collaboration

Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner collaboratively with HODs, internal departments, and external stakeholders to ensure the forwarding department's goals are fully aligned with the broader company vision.

Team Mentorship & Development: Lead, train, and guide the forwarding team, fostering a high-performance culture that emphasizes precision in customs declarations and adaptability to new technologies.

Qualifications & Requirements:-

1. Primary Experience: A minimum of 10 years of proven experience working directly within a forwarding department, with a paramount focus and hands-on expertise in the end-to-end forwarding declaration process. Must demonstrate a strong track record of managerial or supervisory responsibilities.

2. Customs Certification: Possess a valid KEK (Kursus Ejen Kastam) certification.

3. Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of international trade, Incoterms, port operations, and global freight forwarding protocols.

4. Core Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong task delegation, and excellent team leadership.

5. Communication: Highly articulate with excellent communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Pay: RM9,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
