Role Description:
The Architectural Design Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore. This position is responsible for coordinating architectural design details between internal design teams, engineering, and project managers to ensure drawings and specifications are accurate, consistent, and buildable. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing and updating architectural plans, preparing and managing design-related submittals, and aligning design solutions with project requirements, codes, and client expectations.
The role involves tracking design changes, resolving technical design queries with consultants and contractors, and supporting site teams with clear, timely design information. The Architectural Design Coordinator also collaborates on design meetings, prepares coordination reports, and supports quality assurance for architectural documentation and deliverables.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Design Coordination & Drawing Management
Coordinate architectural design details across internal design teams, structural engineers, and project managers to ensure drawings are accurate, consistent, and constructible. Review and update architectural plans, shop drawings, and coordination drawings throughout the project lifecycle, flagging clashes or buildability issues early for resolution.
2. Submittal Preparation & Approval Tracking
Prepare, compile, and submit design-related submittals — including shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical data sheets — to clients and consultants (including LTA and main contractors on MRT projects) in accordance with project submittal schedules. Track approval statuses, manage resubmissions, and maintain an up-to-date submittal register.
3. RFI & Technical Query Management
Log, track, and coordinate responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and technical design queries raised by site teams, subcontractors, or consultants. Ensure design clarifications are communicated clearly and in a timely manner to avoid construction delays.
4. Design Change Control
Monitor and document design changes throughout the project. Assess the impact of revisions on drawings, specifications, and construction sequences, and ensure that updated information is distributed promptly to all relevant parties. Maintain a clear revision history and change log for each design package.
5. Interface & Multi-Discipline Coordination
Coordinate architectural interfaces with structural, M&E, and civil works to identify and resolve clashes or conflicts in advance of construction. Support BIM coordination workflows and attend multi-discipline coordination meetings, ensuring Anderco's architectural and metalwork packages are fully integrated with the broader project design.
6. Compliance & Standards
Ensure all architectural documentation and design outputs comply with applicable LTA standards, BCA codes, and project-specific specifications. Keep abreast of relevant Singapore building regulations, authority submission requirements, and industry standards as they apply to MRT and infrastructure projects.
7. Site Support & Design Communication
Provide site teams with clear and timely design information to support construction activities. Attend site and design meetings, capture and distribute meeting minutes, and prepare coordination reports. Act as the first point of contact between the site team and the design office for day-to-day architectural queries.
8. Documentation & Quality Assurance
Maintain organized and up-to-date design records, drawing registers, and correspondence files throughout the project. Support quality assurance checks on architectural deliverables before issue, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and conformance with project requirements.
