Job Summary
The Programme Assistant supports planning and delivering engaging programmes for seniors, facilitates activities, engages clients, manages administrative tasks, and coordinates with volunteers and partners to ensure smooth centre operations.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing daily programmes and activities to promote active ageing among seniors
Facilitate group activities, recreational programmes, exercises, games, and social engagement sessions to enhance client participation
Organize festive celebrations, community events, outings, and special projects to foster community involvement
Prepare activity materials, equipment, and set up venues to ensure readiness for programmes and events
Monitor clients during activities and provide assistance to ensure their safety and engagement
Accompany clients during outings and external activities to support their participation and well-being
Maintain a safe, clean, and conducive environment for all clients
Maintain accurate attendance records and programme documentation to support operational needs
Support collection of client feedback and assist in evaluating programme effectiveness
Liaise with volunteers, vendors, and community partners to coordinate programme-related activities and resources
Perform other duties as assigned by the Centre Manager to support centre operations
Preferred competencies and qualifications
Prior experience in eldercare, healthcare, social services, community care, or event coordination to enhance programme delivery
Willingness to learn and actively participate in programme planning and execution
Physically fit to support activities and accompany seniors during outings when required
