Job Description

Responsibilities

Ever wondered what a traded-in laptop goes through before it's ready to sell again? You're about to be the one who makes that happen. As our Inventory Preparation & Technical Operations Assistant, you'll be the hands-on engine behind myhalo's zero e-waste mission: checking devices in, running the first tests, sorting them for their next life, and keeping the whole pipeline moving. Our in-house AI tools already help with photo editing, spec checks and product listing, so you'll spend less time on repetitive data entry and more time making sure the information is right. You'll work closely with the Warehouse Executive and pick up real technical skills along the way. No repair background needed to start, just curiosity and a willingness to learn.

You'll also be a familiar face to our Technical Specialist and Warehouse Operations interns, showing them the ropes as they learn alongside you.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Operations Support

  • Get hands-on: run simple visual and functional tests (battery check, boot-up, display check) on incoming devices
  • Grade devices against our internal cosmetic and functional standards
  • Check in, tag, and log devices into our inventory system, verifying the device details and specs captured or suggested by our AI-assisted tools against the actual unit

RMA & Returns Support

  • Support RMA workflows: documentation, record updates, and preparing items for return
  • Pack and schedule RMA shipments
  • Track RMA status and keep the Warehouse Executive in the loop

Buyback & Stock Processing

  • Receive and process traded-in/buyback electronics with accurate labelling and SKU management
  • Create and maintain SKUs, reviewing AI-assisted spec checks so device data is complete and accurate before the next step
  • Move devices through the pipeline: testing → repair → resale → eCommerce listing
  • Take product photos to our standard, then review AI-edited images and AI-generated listing drafts before they go live
  • Support cycle counts, stock audits, and discrepancy investigations
  • Partner with the technical team on device testing, refurbishment, and quality control
  • Keep accurate buyback records, following our quality and data-security standards (ISO 9001 / ISO 27001)

Sustainability in Sorting

  • Sort and label devices for their best next life: reuse, upcycle, donation, or recycle, following myhalo's sustainability workflow
  • Manage device movement and keep the warehouse organised, safe, and easy to navigate
  • Track and report the volume and weight of devices processed for our sustainability reporting
  • Spot ways to make our processing workflows leaner and greener

Working with AI & Automation

  • Flag and help resolve exceptions from our automated tools, such as specs that don't match the device, missing data or failed uploads
  • Keep device and SKU data clean and consistent so our AI-assisted tools have accurate information to work with
  • Learn to use our AI tools and prompts for everyday tasks, and share what works with the team

Guiding Our Interns

  • Be a go-to face for our Technical Specialist and Warehouse Operations interns: show them how things work, including how we use our AI tools, and help them build real skills
  • Walk interns through daily tasks and check in on their progress alongside your own work

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Buyback: processing speed and accuracy for traded-in items
  • Warehousing: inventory accuracy
  • Logistics: order fulfilment accuracy and turnaround time
  • Data quality: accuracy of device data and listings after review of AI-generated output
  • Sustainability: volume of devices successfully reused/upcycled, % reduction in waste

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Background: Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, IT, Computer Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Fresh graduates welcome: experience in eCommerce or logistics is a plus
  • Technical Comfort: You don't need repair experience, but you should be comfortable getting hands-on with devices, running basic tests, checking components, and learning as you go (training provided)
  • Compliance Mindset: You don't need to be an ISO expert; we just need you to understand why quality and data-security standards (like ISO 9001 and ISO 27001) matter, and be willing to learn and work within them
  • Strong attention to detail in inventory, data checks, and documentation
  • Digital Proficiency: Comfortable with Google Sheets, Docs, and other digital tools to present operational data clearly
  • AI Comfort: Comfortable using AI tools and happy to check AI-generated output carefully (training provided)
  • Good communication skills and comfortable supporting cross-functional teams and guiding others
  • Genuine passion for sustainability and the circular economy
