Job Description

Responsibilities

We are working with an established global manufacturer of precision optical components used across industries including semiconductor, electronics, medical devices, and advanced manufacturing.

They are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer (Process Development) to help develop and improve their manufacturing processes in Singapore.

If you enjoy hands-on engineering, working with technicians, and finding practical ways to make production more efficient and consistent, this could be an interesting opportunity!

What You Will Be Doing

Whilst no two manufacturing projects are exactly alike, you can expect to:

  • Develop manufacturing processes for new products, from initial engineering drawings through to production.
  • Design and improve jigs, fixtures, and tooling to help manufacture components accurately and consistently.
  • Support First Article (FA) trials, troubleshooting issues and refining processes before full-scale production.
  • Work closely with production technicians and QA teams to resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce defects, and minimise waste.
  • Support technical feasibility assessments and cost estimates for new manufacturing requirements.
  • Apply engineering and continuous improvement tools to make manufacturing processes more reliable and repeatable.

What We Are Looking For

  • Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Ideally 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or a related technical role. Junior engineers with 1+ years of strong relevant experience are also welcome!
  • Some experience working with engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, tooling, or fixtures.
  • Exposure to First Article (FA), New Product Introduction (NPI), or process improvement would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, DOE, FMEA, or Lean Manufacturing would be a plus.
  • Someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, working with production teams, and seeing engineering solutions come to life on the shopfloor.

We are happy to consider engineers from precision engineering, machining, semiconductor, equipment manufacturing, and other manufacturing environments.
