DF Automation & Robotics designs, manufactures, and deploys Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) for industrial material handling. Operating in an agile, high-mix, low-volume environment, we combine cutting-edge robotics hardware, embedded electronics, and intelligent fleet navigation software.
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Quality Control Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of product quality, safety compliance, and hardware reliability. In this role, you will bridge physical mechanical inspection, electronics quality, and dynamic autonomous navigation testing across our AGV/AMR product lines.
Job Description
- Mechanical & Electrical QC: Inspect robot chassis dimensions (GD&T), wheel alignment, payload balance, wire harnesses, PCBAs, BMS lithium battery systems, and motor driver boards.
- Sensor & Navigation Testing: Calibrate LiDAR, ToF cameras, and encoders while verifying SLAM positioning, line-following, auto-docking precision, and fleet communications (Wi-Fi, Modbus, ROS/ROS2).
- ISO Safety Compliance: Execute AGV/AMR safety tests for laser field zones, anti-drop sensors, bumpers, and E-Stop circuit latency in accordance with ISO 3691-4 standards.
- Quality Systems & IQC/IPQC/OQC: Set up and run incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality control gates while maintaining Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) records and test scripts.
- Root Cause & Vendor Quality: Log non-conformances, perform 5-Why analysis, write 8D reports, execute CAPA, and manage quality directly with local metal, PCB, and harness suppliers.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Automation, or Robotics Engineering.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years in QC, QA, or testing within automation, robotics, high-mix low-volume manufacturing, or mechatronics assembly lines.
- SME Agility: Proven track record in agile SME environments, independently writing test scripts, executing floor tests, and handling suppliers hands-on.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in reading GD&T drawings and electrical schematics, operating measuring tools, testing autonomous navigation hardware, and applying quality problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, CAPA).
- Bonus Certifications: Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or IPC-A-610 certification.
