Description:
The Junior Pipeline TD will report to the Pipeline Supervisor and participate in the creation and ongoing support of a large, high-end animation pipeline and asset/project management system, as well as tools and utilities for Maya, Houdini, and Nuke.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with production teams, artists, and supervisors to gather relevant information and workflow needs.
- Diagnose technical issues and address them directly or escalate them to the pipeline team.
- Develop new tools and support existing ones across all stages of production.
- Create, package, and release tools using proprietary technology.
- Act as a triage point person for production-related queries directed to the pipeline department, diagnosing technical issues to address directly or escalate as needed.
- Debug problematic scenes in Maya, Houdini, and Nuke.
- Validate issues reported by artists and document them in a clear, reproducible manner.
- Develop scripts and tools to optimize various production tasks.
- Monitor bug reports filed by production teams.
Required Skills:
- BS, BA, or Master’s Degree, ideally in a technical field.
- 1+ years of experience developing code in the CG industry.
- Experience in Maya, Nuke, or Houdini.
- Strong experience in Python.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Production experience with a render farm, preferably Deadline.
- Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in designing and building database systems.
