Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Technical Lead to spearhead the development and end-to-end delivery of our core mobile and backend applications. In this role, you will lead a agile team of 5 developers while remaining actively involved in coding, architecture design, and technical strategy.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in building scalable mobile apps using React Native, backed by a robust Node.js services layer and MSSQL databases. You will own the entire product delivery lifecycle—from initial scoping and architectural design to deployment, analytics tracking, and post-launch optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of 5 developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of features and products, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and up to quality standards.
• Conduct code reviews, establish engineering best practices, and guide the team through complex technical roadblocks.

Technical Execution & Architecture

• Architect, build, and maintain high-quality cross-platform mobile applications using React Native.
• Design and optimize secure, scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js.
• Manage database design, optimization, and complex querying using MSSQL.
• Integrate mobile ecosystem tools including Firebase (Crashlytics, Firestore), Google Analytics (GA), Push Notifications, and A/B testing frameworks to drive data-driven product decisions.
• Implement secure authentication workflows, including device-level biometrics (Touch ID / Face ID).

Requirements & Qualifications

Core Experience

• Proven experience as a Technical Lead or Senior Engineer with a track record of driving end-to-end product delivery.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing small development teams (approx. 5 engineers).
• Strong portfolio of production-ready mobile applications built with React Native.

Technical Skills

• Frontend: Expert knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and the React Native ecosystem.
• Backend: Deep expertise in Node.js and RESTful API / GraphQL design.
• Database: Strong proficiency in relational databases, specifically MSSQL (indexing, schema design, store procedures).
• Mobile Features: Hands-on experience implementing biometrics, push notifications, A/B testing, and Google Analytics.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Strong familiarity with Firebase services.

Preferred Pluses

• Experience with .NET or Java backend ecosystems.
• Prior experience working within the Insurance domain or highly regulated fintech/financial services environments.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
