We are seeking a committed Social Worker with a keen interest in community building and relevant experience in providing holistic support to individuals and families. The successful candidate will work across EA’s youth, family and senior programmes to support, and strengthen participation, belonging and resilience within the community.

Working closely with EA’s departments, the Family Support Services Sub-Committee, community partners and volunteers, you will helpstrengthen an integrated community support ecosystem that reaches people who may need support, connects them to appropriate services and opportunities, and enables them to remain engaged with the Eurasian community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct light-touch assessments to understand individuals’ and families’ needs, circumstances and strengths, identify risks and determine appropriate support.
  • Provide relationship-based support, practical guidance and social work intervention where appropriate, while connecting individuals and families to relevant EA programmes and external services.
  • Facilitate warm referrals to government agencies, Family Service Centres, Social Service Offices, schools, healthcare providers and specialist services, and follow up to support continued engagement.
  • Identify emerging needs early and coordinate appropriate responses with EA colleagues, volunteers and partner agencies, including escalation to specialist services where necessary.
  • Maintain timely, accurate and confidential records, and contribute to service planning and evaluation.

Community Building and Participation

  • Proactively reach out to vulnerable or socially isolated individuals and families, including those not currently engaged with EA, and connect them with appropriate support and opportunities.
  • Engage individuals and families in EA’s programmes, activities and interest groups, fostering social connection, participation, belonging and stronger community ties.
  • Develop opportunities for youth, families, seniors, volunteers and former beneficiaries to participate, contribute and remain connected to EA across different stages of life, including through mentoring, volunteer engagement and intergenerational initiatives. Mobilise volunteers, community partners and existing networks to strengthen community connections and community participation.

Partnerships and Integrated Services

  • Establish and maintain two-way referral pathways with government agencies, social service organisations, schools, healthcare providers and community partners, connecting individuals and families to specialist services where needed, while facilitating handshakes to EA’s networks and support.
  • Promote awareness of EA’s programmes and community support among partner agencies, identify opportunities for collaboration, and encourage appropriate referrals into EA.
  • Work with colleagues across education, heritage, sports, community programmes and family support to create connected pathways for support, participation and volunteer involvement.
  • Help colleagues and volunteers identify emerging needs, make appropriate referrals and apply consistent safeguarding, documentation and follow-up practices.
  • Monitor outcomes such as referral completion, repeat engagement, social connectedness, participation and contribution, and use these insights to improve EA’s programmes and partnerships.

Requirements

  • A Degree or Graduate Diploma in Social Work or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
  • Preferably at least one year of relevant experience in social work, youth work or community development. Recent graduates with relevant community experience are welcome to apply.
  • A proactive, empathetic and resourceful approach, with a strong interest in family development, youth engagement and community building.
  • Experience in building relationships and working collaboratively with individuals, families, agencies, volunteers and community partners.
  • Good assessment, referral coordination, interpersonal, communication and report-writing skills.
  • An understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams, committees, volunteers and external partners.
