HIRING: LAN NETWORK ENGINEER – BANKING

Location: Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia

We are looking for an experienced LAN Network Engineer to design, implement, support, and optimise enterprise LAN infrastructure within a secure banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise LAN environments across multiple banking locations.
• Configure and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching infrastructure.
• Manage campus, branch, and data centre connectivity.
• Support network upgrades, refreshes, migrations, and transformation projects.
• Troubleshoot VLAN, STP/RSTP/MSTP, EtherChannel, VPC, HSRP/VRRP, and connectivity issues.
• Support Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, Aruba, Juniper EX, or equivalent switching platforms.
• Support enterprise wireless environments including Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki.
• Implement network segmentation, NAC, 802.1X, Zero Trust, and security controls.
• Monitor network health, performance, availability, and capacity.
• Conduct root cause analysis and participate in major incident management.
• Maintain network documentation and diagrams.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, server, security, and vendor teams.
• Support banking governance, audits, compliance, and disaster recovery requirements.

• Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting
• Wireshark, SolarWinds, Cisco DNA Centre, Aruba Central, Splunk or similar

Automation Skills

Experience with any of the following is an advantage:

• Python
• PowerShell
• Ansible
• REST APIs
• Terraform

Banking Experience

Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated industries is highly preferred, particularly exposure to:

• Retail / Branch Banking Networks
• Investment Banking Infrastructure
• Trading Floor Connectivity
• ATM Networks
• Payment Processing Platforms
• PCI-DSS Compliance
• Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

Experience Required

• Minimum 6 years of Network Engineering experience
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on LAN administration and support
• Large-scale enterprise campus network experience
• High-availability network environment experience
• Strong production support, incident, and change management experience

Preferred Certifications

CCNA / CCNP / CCIE, Aruba certifications, CWNA/CWNP, ITIL, AZ-700, CISSP or relevant networking/security certifications.
