Responsibilities

Customer Experience

• Greet customers and ask focused questions to understand their needs, then recommend suitable products with clear, friendly advice.
• Demonstrate basic product features and safe usage for sporting equipment in a simple, confident way.
• Handle customer returns and exchanges following store policy, aiming for calm, fair resolutions.
• Maintain an approachable presence on the shop floor and support peak-hour customer flow.

Store Operations

• Operate the POS for sales, process payments, and issue receipts accurately at all times.
• Manage daily opening and closing checks, including cash reconciliation and basic till balancing.
• Perform routine stock counts, update inventory records, and alert supervisors to low-stock items.
• Keep the store tidy and safe, following health and safety guidelines for equipment displays.

Merchandising & Sales

• Set up displays and rotate stock so bestselling items are visible and accessible.
• Assist with seasonal merchandising plans and follow simple visual guidelines from the manager.
• Support promotions by explaining offers and upselling complementary items when appropriate.
• Record customer feedback about products and share trends with the team for buying decisions.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum education: SPM or equivalent, or recent school leaver; no prior retail experience required.
• 0 years of work experience is acceptable; internships or part-time retail work is a plus.
• Available to work flexible retail hours including weekends and public holidays.
• Comfortable with a hands-on, customer-facing role in a physical store environment.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Basic cash handling and familiarity with Point of Sale systems or willingness to learn quickly.
• Simple inventory tasks such as stock counts and shelf replenishment experience or readiness to perform them.
• Basic numeracy for pricing, promotions, and reconciliation tasks.
• Familiarity or interest in sports equipment, watersports, or fitness products is preferred.

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Communicate clearly in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with friendly and patient customer interactions.
• Show reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude in a team setting.
• Be observant and proactive about store needs, with a willingness to take on varied tasks.
• Maintain neat personal presentation and a helpful demeanour when representing the brand.
