We are looking for an experienced Senior Specialist – Payments with more than 7 years of relevant experience to bring strong payment operations expertise into our growing team and help shape the future of intelligent banking operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support payment operations, including payment processing, validation, investigations, exception handling and reconciliation.
• Investigate complex payment issues, failed transactions, discrepancies and processing delays, ensuring timely resolution.
• Apply strong knowledge of payment lifecycles, banking procedures, operational controls and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, financial institutions and relevant counterparties to resolve payment-related issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve straight-through processing (STP), reduce manual intervention and optimise operational efficiency.
• Analyse existing payment processes and document business rules, workflows, exception scenarios and operational requirements.
• Work closely with product, engineering and AI teams to translate payment operations knowledge into business and functional requirements.
• Contribute domain expertise to the design, testing and validation of AI-enabled payment automation and agentic workflows.
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), validate system functionality and support the resolution of payment-related defects.
• Ensure appropriate audit trails, escalation procedures, risk controls and governance requirements are incorporated into payment workflows.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of scalable, technology-driven banking operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Banking, Finance, Business, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• More than 7 years of relevant experience in payment operations, transaction processing, payment investigations or banking operations.
• Strong understanding of payment processing, payment exceptions, reconciliation and operational risk controls.
• Familiarity with payment systems and messaging standards. Knowledge of SWIFT, ISO 20022, SEPA or cross-border payments is an advantage.
• Proven ability to investigate complex payment issues, analyse root causes and recommend practical solutions.
• Experience in business process documentation, requirements gathering, system implementation or UAT.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with business and technology teams to improve operational processes.
• Interest in AI, intelligent automation and the transformation of banking operations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-growing environment.
