We are looking for an Urban Planner who can combine professional planning knowledge with strong client communication and product-thinking skills.

The Role

You will work directly with customers to understand their planning, land development and pre-development requirements.

You will develop planning concepts and solution proposals, lead client presentations, support POCs and help improve UnlockLand’s products based on real-world planning workflows.

This is not a traditional planning role focused only on reports and drawings. You will work closely with product designers and engineers to turn professional planning requirements into practical digital tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate directly with clients to understand their planning and development requirements.
• Lead client discovery meetings, workshops, presentations and product demonstrations.
• Develop planning concepts, development scenarios and solution proposals.
• Conduct site assessments, planning analysis and development-potential studies.
• Review planning policies, zoning requirements, development controls and site constraints.
• Prepare professional planning reports, diagrams, presentations and client materials.
• Evaluate different development options and provide clear recommendations.
• Support enterprise and public-sector POCs from requirements gathering through final presentation.
• Translate planning workflows and customer requirements into clear product requirements.
• Work with product designers and engineers to develop and improve software features.
• Test the platform from a professional planner’s perspective.
• Collect and organise customer feedback after demonstrations and project delivery.
• Support product improvements based on real planning and development use cases.
• Manage multiple customer projects and coordinate internal and external stakeholders.
• Represent UnlockLand professionally at customer meetings and industry events.

Requirements

• Degree or professional background in urban planning, urban design, architecture, real estate development or a related built-environment discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Hands-on experience working on urban planning, master planning, development planning or pre-development projects.
• Strong ability to develop planning concepts and evaluate development options.
• Experience preparing planning proposals, feasibility studies, reports or presentations.
• Strong client communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to explain complex planning and technical information clearly.
• Ability to work effectively with product designers and software engineers.
• Strong analytical, visual communication and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Strong interest in AI, planning technology, GIS and digital products.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with property developers, planning consultancies, architecture firms, government agencies or statutory boards.
• Experience in land acquisition, site assessment, development feasibility or pre-development strategy.
• Experience leading client workshops or presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Experience with Singapore’s planning and development system.
• Familiarity with GIS, spatial data, mapping platforms or planning software.
• Experience participating in enterprise POCs or digital product implementation.
• Experience providing professional feedback to improve software products.
• Professional proficiency in Mandarin is strongly preferred.
• A portfolio showing completed planning or development projects.
