Job Description

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of data centre fit-out and construction projects in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from planning and pre-construction through execution, commissioning, and handover, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, quality, and safety requirements.

An engineering background is preferred, with candidates expected to have strong hands-on experience delivering data centre fit-out projects and managing multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of data centre fit-out and construction projects from pre-construction through completion and handover.
  • Develop and manage project execution plans, programmes, budgets, procurement strategies, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor project progress against programme, cost, quality, and contractual requirements.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve issues affecting project delivery.
  • Manage project changes, variations, claims, and commercial matters in coordination with the relevant teams.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with client requirements, contractual obligations, and applicable Singapore standards and regulations.

Data Centre Fit-Out

  • Manage the fit-out and installation of critical data centre infrastructure and associated building services.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary works including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, BMS, fire protection, ELV, security, controls, and architectural/fit-out packages.
  • Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and final handover activities.
  • Coordinate with specialist contractors, vendors, consultants, engineers, and client representatives to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Review technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans, and commissioning documentation.
  • Ensure interfaces between different systems and trades are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Lead and coordinate project teams comprising engineers, construction managers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and specialist vendors.
  • Act as the key point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Chair project meetings and provide regular progress updates, reports, and presentations to senior management and clients.
  • Coordinate with design, procurement, commercial, HSE, QA/QC, and commissioning teams.
  • Manage contractor performance and ensure resources are appropriately planned and deployed.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all works comply with project specifications, approved designs, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Singapore WSH requirements and project-specific HSE standards.
  • Monitor QA/QC processes, inspections, testing, commissioning, and defect rectification.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and records are maintained throughout the project.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Relevant project management or construction experience.
  • Proven experience managing data centre construction and/or fit-out projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data centre MEP systems and critical infrastructure.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, programme management, cost control, procurement, commissioning, and handover.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project controls, QA/QC, HSE, and contract administration.
  • Experience working with clients, consultants, main contractors, specialist subcontractors, and equipment vendors.
  • Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Singapore construction standards, regulations, and WSH requirements will be advantageous.
