Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Executive to manage daily accounting operations and financial activities within the logistics and freight forwarding industry.

The ideal candidate should have solid accounting knowledge, experience handling full sets of accounts, and familiarity with logistics-related financial transactions. Candidates with knowledge of the Johor business market and local accounting practices will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger (GL).
• Handle full sets of accounts and ensure accurate and timely financial records.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and financial reports.
• Monitor customer payments, supplier invoices, outstanding balances, and credit control.
• Process invoices, payment vouchers, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Handle logistics and freight forwarding-related transactions, including freight charges, shipping costs, customs duties, disbursements, and operational expenses.
• Reconcile accounts with shipping agents, transporters, vendors, and customers.
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and financial planning activities.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, and relevant authorities when required.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and financial reporting efficiency.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in the logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, or transportation industry is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of full sets of accounts, AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliation.
• Familiarity with freight forwarding transactions, shipping documentation, and logistics cost structures.
• Good understanding of Malaysian accounting standards and taxation requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with the Johor business market is an advantage.
