Job Description – SAP SD S4 Hana Consultant

Role: SAP SD S4 Hana Consultant

Experience: 4-8 years

Location: Singapore (5 Days WFO)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP SD Functional Consultant with strong end-to-end knowledge of SAP Sales and Distribution (SD), including configuration, implementation, and global template rollout experience. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience across standard sales, drop shipment, intercompany sales, and other complex order-to-cash processes.

The candidate must possess a strong understanding of SAP standard functionalities, cross-module integration, regional business requirements, and the ability to manage end-to-end implementation and rollout activities across Asian markets.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Requirements

1. End-to-End SAP SD Functional Expertise

• Strong knowledge of the complete SAP SD order-to-cash (O2C) cycle, including contracts, sales orders, outbound deliveries, Post Goods Issue (PGI), billing/invoicing, and cancellation/reversal processes.
• Hands-on experience with credit management/checks, pricing procedures, taxation, and basic accounting/financial postings related to SAP SD.
• Strong understanding of sales document types, item categories, schedule lines, delivery processing, billing types, and copy controls.
• Experience handling standard sales, drop shipment/third-party sales, and intercompany sales processes.

2. Advanced Sales & Distribution Processes

• Strong functional knowledge of:
• Standard Order-to-Cash processes.
• Drop Shipment / Third-Party Sales.
• Intercompany Sales and Billing.
• Customer Consignment processes.
• Sales Contracts and Agreements.
• Returns, cancellations, and reversal scenarios.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management and its integration with SAP SD.
• Understanding of lead-time calculation, delivery scheduling, transportation timelines, and related configuration.

3. Implementation & Project Delivery

• Must have successfully executed at least one full SAP SD implementation lifecycle, covering:
• Requirement gathering and gap assessment.
• Business blueprinting and solution design.
• Functional Specification Documents (FSDs).
• Configuration and functional testing.
• SIT, UAT, and defect resolution.
• Deployment, cutover, and go-live.
• Post-go-live hypercare and support.

4. Global Template Rollout & Regional Expertise

• Experience working on global template rollouts, preferably extending an existing Japan (JP) template across other Asian countries.
• Strong understanding of country-specific business, statutory, and regulatory requirements across Asia.
• Exposure to Taiwan (TW) GUI (Government Uniform Invoice) numbering requirements and their impact on SAP configuration.
• Understanding of country-specific requirements related to outbound deliveries, returns, legal compliance, billing, and financial posting implications.
• Ability to assess regional deviations from global templates and recommend appropriate SAP standard solutions.

5. Integration & Data Knowledge

• Strong understanding of SAP SD data structures and integration with other SAP modules.
• Familiarity with key SD tables and their relationships with other modules, including:
• SAP MM – Material Management.
• SAP FI/CO – Financial Accounting and Controlling.
• SAP WM/EWM – Warehouse Management.
• Ability to troubleshoot cross-module issues and understand the impact of SD transactions on inventory, billing, and accounting postings.

6. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Experience managing or working with multiple vendor arrangements and third-party business models.
• Ability to coordinate with business stakeholders, technical teams, regional teams, and external vendors.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on SAP SD functional and configuration experience.
• End-to-end O2C process knowledge.
• Expertise in Standard Sales, Drop Shipment, and Intercompany Sales.
• Experience in full implementation lifecycle.
• Global template rollout experience, preferably Japan to Asia.
• Knowledge of country-specific statutory requirements, particularly Taiwan GUI numbering.
• Strong understanding of SD integration with MM, FI/CO, and WM/EWM.
• Knowledge of SAP standard SD processes, configuration, and functionality.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with multiple vendors and regional business stakeholders.
• Exposure to SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience in Asia-Pacific implementations and rollouts.
• Strong understanding of regional tax, invoicing, returns, and accounting implications.
