About the Opportunity

We are hiring an experienced Data Center Cabling Engineer to join our team on an outsourced managed services basis. In this role, you will be permanently assigned and seconded to the Enterprise Data Center (EDC) expansion project of our client, a premier global financial organization.

You will work closely with their regional EDC Asia Project team, internal technology units, corporate services, and top-tier colocation providers to drive physical layer design, coordination, and lifecycle management for state-of-the-art facilities across Singapore.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work with a prestigious, global enterprise financial firm on high-visibility infrastructure projects.
  • Premium salary package.

About IT Channel (Asia) Ltd.

We are an information technology services provider focused on delivering reliable infrastructure solutions to enterprise clients across the region. The company supports data center environments, network systems, and mission-critical IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Data Center Cabling Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore, with responsibilities spanning the complete project lifecycle:

  • Design & Standards: Deliver infrastructure design management for racks and cabling systems across new and existing data centers; develop and maintain standardized architectural blueprints.
  • Procurement Support: Draft technical specifications and tender documentation (RFPs); lead technical evaluations of vendor proposals to ensure compliance and cost-efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner cross-functionally with internal network, compute, storage, and security teams to validate and future-proof physical capacity requirements.
  • Project & Quality Oversight: Provide end-to-end management for physical deployments, audit vendor installations, review shop drawings, and lead physical layer commissioning (fiber/copper sweep tests).
  • Operations & MAC Activities: Plan and safely execute Move, Add, and Change (MAC) requirements within live production environments with zero business disruption.
  • Documentation & Risk Management: Maintain flawless patching schedules, asset labels, and rack layouts; identify infrastructure single points of failure (SPOFs) and handle risk mitigation.

Requirements & Capabilities

Technical Knowledge & Experience:

  • Cabling Infrastructure: Deep expertise in structured copper and fiber cabling solutions (Cat 6A, OS2 single-mode, OM4/OM5 multi-mode) and ultra-high-density cassette architectures.
  • Hardware & Testing: Hands-on proficiency with network testing equipment, specifically the Fluke Networks DSX-5000/DSX-8000 CableAnalyzer series.
  • Critical Environments: Proven experience operating inside live, mission-critical environments with strict change management and operational safety controls.

Core Capabilities:

  • Autodesk AutoCAD Proficiency: Ability to independently produce and mark up complex 2D engineering layouts, rack elevations, and pathing schematics.
  • Communication: Flawless written and spoken English skills to translate complex technical constraints into executive status reports.
  • Workstream Management: Strong organizational capability to track concurrent vendor deliverables and resolve interdependencies.

Qualifications

  • Certifications: Possession of a recognized industry credential such as BICSI RCDD, CDCP, or equivalent.
  • Industry Background: Track record working within mission-critical, tier-rated facilities—ideally in financial services, capital markets, or highly regulated corporate environments.
  • Ecosystem Familiarity: Direct design or deployment experience with Panduit cabling infrastructure and physical layer layout planning for Cisco and Arista hardware.

Work Hours

  • Core Hours: Consistent coverage during standard local business hours.
  • Extended Operations: Willingness to provide technical oversight and escalation support outside normal business hours for critical, high-impact activities (e.g., scheduled weekend migrations or off-hours physical installations).

Pay: $10,000.00 - $12,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
