About the Role

An established international firm is looking for a Mid-Level Associate to join its Restructuring & Insolvency team in Singapore. It advises on major cross-border restructurings, insolvencies and special situations across the region.

The team acts for creditors and investors at every level of the capital structure. It also advises corporates and directors, insolvency officeholders, central banks and government bodies. They advise on liability management exercises, special situation financings, distressed M&A, re-financings, formal insolvency proceedings and distressed debt trading.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating restructuring and financing documentation
• Advising clients strategically, both in writing and in meetings and calls
• Managing client expectations and the delivery of matters
• Contributing to business development, including building your own BD plan and supporting team initiatives
• Conducting legal research
• Supervising and mentoring junior team members

Key Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 3-6 PQE, gained from a reputable local or international law firm
• Strong technical grounding in financing documents and the legal framework for restructuring transactions
• Commercially minded, with the ability to give pragmatic and creative advice
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills, with the credibility to build trust with partners, peers and clients
• Collaborative team player who does well in a fast-paced, demanding environment
